Models are produced in plastic (FDM) - this has a lower surface quality compared to resin, however its ideal for scenery pieces due to its higher durability, cheaper cost and much lower deformation for large flat surfaces.
Battlefield kits contain enough pieces to decorate a battlefield/scene in thematic pieces, combine multiple or duplicate sets for more dense coverage for larger tabletop games.
